There is something special about capturing photos of your friends
Photographing Dustin and Charlee has always been more than a session for me. It has been a front row seat to a love story that has unfolded over years, one season at a time.
I've watched them grow together through life's ordinary moments and its biggest milestones. I've seen the way they look at each other when they think no one is watching. The quiet understanding. The unwavering support. The kind of love that feels steady and safe, yet somehow continues to grow deeper with time.
As a photographer, I am invited into some of the most meaningful chapters of people's lives. But when those people are dear friends, it carries a different weight. There is something incredibly emotional about documenting moments that you know will one day become treasured memories.
Watching Dustin and Charlee step into parenthood has been one of those moments.
There is a beautiful transformation that happens when two people become parents. Their love expands beyond each other and takes on a new shape. It becomes softer. Stronger. More selfless. You can see it in the way they hold their child, the way they exchange glances filled with gratitude, and the way their hearts seem to exist outside of themselves.
Standing behind my camera, I found myself reflecting on just how much life has changed since the early days of their story. The years have brought growth, challenges, laughter, and now the incredible gift of watching them build a family of their own.
Photography has always been about preserving moments. But this session reminded me that it is also about honoring journeys.
Dustin and Charlee’s story is a reminder that the most beautiful love stories are not always found in grand gestures. They are found in the everyday moments. In choosing each other again and again. In growing together. In building a life rooted in love.
I am endlessly grateful that I get to witness stories like theirs. Not just as a photographer, but as a friend.
And if these images tell only one thing, I hope they tell this:
Love grows.
It deepens.
It changes.
And when nurtured well, it becomes something even more beautiful than where it began.
